Greenpoint NY
I have been to Greenpoint numerous times for vacations. Anyone who follows this blog knows we don’t like the real “plush” resorts ..no judgement here but it’s not what I like to do. This was our first visit to the Soundview. Most of our other trips were family vacations and we stayed at a more kid friendly location those times. We wanted a new experience this time Since it was just .my wife and I. The only real negative for the Soundview is the location on the road. There is traffic on this road all day- if that bothers you or the noise will bother you then this isn’t the place for you.
With that said- we stayed in one of the Premium King Rooms at Soundview. Room was great-Clean- all the little perks you’d expect plus a gift from the hotel. Walk out the back door onto the deck overlooking the Sound- Sunset is incredible from the room- just grab a bottle of wine from one of the many wineries in the area. Our favorite is Osprey’s Dominion- or a beer from Greenport Brewery- and watch the sun set. Breakfast came with the room cost and was a european style spread with quality coffee. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner- we tried a number of apps and meals and everything was tasty. We tried a number of seafood meal, fish and chips and even a burger one nigh. All were quality so if you just want to stay in one night and walk down for a meal- you won’t be disappointed. The staff was fun and attentive- The Soundview was worth return visit soon.
