Many people will look towards Utica and say there is an incredible Museum and Arts Institute at Munson Proctor – https://www.mwpai.org/. But that is just the beginning of what’s happening in the Utica/Rome area.

We have a local artist, Vartan Poghosian, that has done some great work with the community as well as an artist or more specifically a ceramic artist. You can see some of his work at his site ClayvillePottery.net There is an ever- changing assortment of lovely pieces with stunning glazes that can be found on the site and he also has some gallery hours to shop in person.

Vartan has also taken on another substantial responsibility- using art as a way to treat and teach children with special needs. Along with running his gallery at 4 Elements Studio in Utica and providing studio space for local artists and classes for adults and children, the gallery also provide classes for numerous charities and groups that work with special need youths and adults. It is always so personally enriching to see how these classes have had profound results with many of the students. For information about the gallery or to donate to help further these programs go to https://www.4elementsstudio.org/

Support our local Art Galleries and programs before they are gone!
